Palm Oil Plantations & Old Towns
Malaysia: Modern, Mysterious and Versatile
Malaysia is a modern and fascinating country in Southeast Asia with excellent infrastructure and good amenities. At the same time, the country has maintained its rich history and cultural heritage. On a motorcycle tour of Malaysia, you will encounter ancient cities, colonial buildings and historic villages everywhere, taking you back to an era of kingdoms, trade and European influences.
In the middle of the country are vast natural areas where mountains rise above the tropical rainforest. While motorcycling through Malaysia, we pass palm oil plantations, small villages and orchards where tropical fruit grows. A special fruit that you see everywhere is the famous Durian, also called the ‘king of fruits. For many Asians, this strongly fragrant fruit is a true delicacy.
One of the best motorcycle routes of the trip takes us through the cool mountain world of the Cameron Highlands. Here the roads wind through green hills, tea plantations and misty mountain forests. The climate here is pleasantly cool and the views of the hills and tea fields make this area one of the highlights of motorcycling in Malaysia.
During the trip, we also visit the island Penang, one of the country's cultural gems. In the historic capital George Town walk through atmospheric streets filled with colorful colonial buildings, temples and street art. The city is known for its rich history, multicultural atmosphere and excellent street food, which is among the best in Asia.
Visiting the bustling capital city Kuala Lumpur is, of course, also not to be missed. This modern metropolis combines impressive skyscrapers with lively markets and colorful temples. The iconic Petronas Towers dominate the skyline, while in the evening the street markets come alive with street food, local specialties and handmade products.
During this motorcycle trip you will discover a country full of contrasts: modern cities, historic colonial sites, tropical nature and winding roads perfect for motorcyclists.
Malaysia is diverse, welcoming and surprising - a destination where tradition and progress come together effortlessly.
