Day 1 Departure

Day 2 Arrival Bali Canggu

Upon arrival in Bali, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver. A comfortable cab van will take you to your hotel in lively Canggu - the hotspot on the coast of Bali.

After the long journey, this is the perfect time to relax. Take a refreshing dip in the pool or unwind while enjoying the view towards Echo Beach, which is within walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of the bustling city center, surrounded by cozy cafes, stylish boutiques and excellent restaurants. An ideal place to quietly acclimatize, spend your first nasi goreng taste or simply take in the relaxed, tropical atmosphere of Bali.

Day 3 Canggu - Accommodation

Since most flights do not arrive until the evening, we will take our time today to land in Bali. This day is entirely dedicated to relaxing and acclimatizing, so that tomorrow you can start your trip fresh and full of energy. motorcycle journey through Indonesia can begin.

Canggu is the ideal place for this. This lively coastal town is known for its laid-back atmosphere and creative vibe, where travelers and locals come together effortlessly. You'll find a wide range of cozy restaurants and cafes - from healthy bowls and fresh smoothies to authentic Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng.

The beach, which includes Echo Beach, is within walking distance of your hotel. During the day, this is the place where surfers brave the waves, while others relax under an umbrella or enjoy a drink at one of the cozy beach clubs.

At the end of the day we meet for a short briefing. We get to know each other, discuss the route of the next few days and look at the motorcycles that have been delivered in the meantime.

Everything is ready - the adventure can begin.

Day 4 Canggu - Munduk

After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, the moment has arrived: the first real driving day of your motorcycle journey through Bali.

We start the engines in Canggu and soon leave the crowds behind. The asphalt gives way to narrow, winding roads that take us deep into the green heart of Bali in leiden. This is where the adventure really begins.

We drive past small villages where daily life takes place on the streets, through endless rice terraces glistening in the sun and over roads that become increasingly challenging and winding. The air smells of tropical greenery and wet earth - Bali at its purest.

Along the way, we make a brief stop at a deserted beach, where the ocean pounds incessantly on the shore. For a moment the helmet off, feet in the sand ... and then on again.

The route toward Pupuan is a veritable playground for motorcyclists: flowing curves, ascending roads and views that become more impressive every kilometer. After a local lunch, we switch up a gear and partly leave the asphalt. Off-road we head deeper into the mountains, on hidden trails where hardly anyone comes.

This is not a standard route - this is discover, ride and experience.

In the late afternoon, we climb further uphill until we arrive in Munduk. The fresh mountain air, the silence and the view over the valley immediately make it clear that you have arrived at a special place.

End the day with a cold drink as the sun slowly sinks behind the mountains.

The first miles have been made. The adventure has begun.

Day 5 Munduk - Sidemen

After a hearty breakfast, we start the engines and ride the fresh mountain air of Munduk in. The road winds upward, deeper into the mountains of Bali in, toward the mysterious Lake Buyan.

Here we take a short break. Patches of fog hang low above the water, surrounded by dense jungle - an almost magical place where it becomes quiet for a moment.

Soon we leave the inhabited world further behind. Narrow roads lead us through remote villages where children wave enthusiastically and daily life plays out unfiltered. This is Bali as few travelers see it.

Then the landscape changes. The road gets steeper, the curves sharper. We climb toward the imposing volcano Mount Batur.

Just below the crater rim, we turn onto a hidden path. The asphalt disappears and gives way to rougher terrain. We plunge into a dense forest ... until the landscape suddenly opens up.

Ahead of us is a vast black lava plain - created from ancient eruptions. Here we really let the bikes come to life. Riding over loose lava sand, playing with grip and balance - this is pure adventure, raw and unforgettable.

After this adrenaline rush, we climb further up to the crater rim. During lunch we enjoy spectacular views of the crater lake, with the majestic Mount Agung who towers above everything else.

The last part of the route brings tranquility. We descend through a landscape that becomes ever greener and softer: rice terraces, palm trees and deep valleys accompany us towards Sidemen.

Here, away from the hustle and bustle, we end the day in peace. With a cold drink on your terrace, looking out over endless rice fields gently moving in the breeze, you realize:

this is Bali at its purest.

Day 6 Sidemen - Kuta ( Lombok )

Today we say goodbye to Bali and set course for a new chapter of this motorcycle journey through Indonesia: the rugged and pristine Lombok.

After breakfast we drive towards the ferry terminal. The engines board and slowly we leave Bali behind. During the crossing - about four hours - there is time to relax, look out over the sea and watch the island slowly disappear on the horizon.

As soon as we arrive at Lombok, everything feels different. Quieter. More pure. Less touristy. This is where a new kind of adventure begins.

We start the motorcycles and drive straight into the interior. Via narrow roads and dusty paths we pass through traditional kampungs, where life takes place in the streets. Along the way, we see how locals still search for gold in the traditional way - a special and authentic scene.

After that, the riding becomes pure enjoyment again. The route takes us through the hilly south, along the winding roads of Blongas, Bremi and Pandaleman. Curve after curve unfolds a landscape of green valleys, small farms and in the distance the glistening Indian Ocean.

At the end of the afternoon, we reach Kuta Lombok, the laid-back surfing heart of Lombok. There is a relaxed atmosphere here, with cozy cafes, local restaurants and small boutiques.

Your hotel is within walking distance of the beach. End the day with your feet in the sand, a cold drink in hand and the sun slowly sinking into the sea.

Day 7 Kuta - Maluk ( Sumbawa )

Today we ride one of the most beautiful stages of this motorcycle journey through Indonesia: of Kuta Lombok to Maluk.

We start along the spectacular south coast of Lombok, where the road winds its way past rugged cliffs, deserted beaches and turquoise bays. This is exactly where a motorcycle journey Lombok is all about: freedom, curves and breathtaking views.

Day 8 Maluk - Sumbawa Besar

Today we begin a beautiful drive through the southwestern part of Sumbawa, a region where few tourists still visit. A lot of work has been done here in recent years - literally - because there is now a beautiful winding asphalt road that winds its way through dense forests and mountainous terrain. It is a pleasure to drive here: fresh air, green slopes, and the occasional breathtaking viewpoint where we stop to take it all in.

We also deliberately take a few turns to deviate from the main road. Here things get more adventurous: we ride unpaved through sleepy villages where time creeps along slowly, children greet us enthusiastically and goats lie languidly in the shade. The smell of wood fire and spices is in the air. A little later, we set sail for the coast to enjoy the power of the ocean - rough waves pound the beach while the wind whips through the helmet. A nice moment to reflect on how far we have come.

For lunch, we stop at a place that is simple, but oh so flavorful. Think steaming rice, spicy chicken, freshly fried tempeh, spicy sambal and a crunchy vegetable salad. The Indonesians really know how to use spices and fresh ingredients to create a feast on your plate.

In the afternoon we continue driving, this time heading north on the "main road." In quotes, because although this is officially a main route, it often feels like we are driving off-road. The asphalt is worn in many places, making the ride extra adventurous. Fortunately, traffic is minimal and we can continue to enjoy the scenery in peace.

At the end of the day, we reach Sumbawa Besar, the capital of the island. Here a comfortable hotel with Western standards awaits us: a good bed, a hot shower, and - yes - air conditioning.

For dinner, we head into town, where we assemble a sort of Indonesian "tapas buffet" at a local restaurant. All sorts of dishes on the table: from grilled fish and spicy beef dishes to sweet coconut vegetables and crunchy snacks. We share everything with each other - and of course a cold beer is a must. Cheers to another successful day full of bends, dust, sea salt and sambal.

Day 9 Sumbawa Besar - Bima

Today there is a hefty ride on the program - not so much technically challenging, but rich in impressions and mileage. We leave early as the day begins beautifully along Sumbawa's azure coast. The morning sun shines on the water and on the horizon the island of Moyo looms like a green speck in the blue sea. A perfect start to the day.

The first few hours we drive leisurely on well-paved roads that wind gracefully through the landscape. We cross small villages where time still seems to stand still. The smell of freshly baked bread and a wood fire wafts towards us, while children wave curiously at our passing motorcycles. The atmosphere is friendly and warm.

In the afternoon, things get more challenging as we begin the ascent of the mountain pass of Doro Wero. The curves follow each other in rapid succession, and the view becomes more impressive with every meter. We stop at a viewpoint along the way to catch our breath - and, of course, to take pictures of the mighty panorama stretching out below us.

After the descent, we continue driving toward Dompu, a lively town where we paused briefly for refreshments. Then we set course for our final destination for the day: Bima. This city on the east side of Sumbawa feels lively, colorful and a tad chaotic - exactly as you would expect an Indonesian city to be.

We spend the night in the heart of Bima, right across from the covered market where activity buzzes into the evening. A perfect place to experience local life up close. After a long day in the saddle, it feels extra good to sit down and enjoy a cold drink and a hearty meal.

Day 10 Bima - Labuhan Bajo ( Flores )

Today starts early - very early. The alarm clock rings at 5 a.m., and with the sun just appearing above the horizon, we are on our bikes by 6. The sky turns a soft pink and orange as we begin our ride over the mountain pass Doro Daria, a beautiful stretch of road that winds through the mountainous landscape toward eastern Sumbawa.

The fresh morning air, the first sunlight on the rice fields and the awakening sounds of nature make for a magical start to the day. Little traffic, lots of curves and ever-changing views make this one of the most beautiful rides of the trip.

By morning we arrive in Sape, a small coastal town where the ferry awaits us for the crossing to the next island: Flores. A relaxing trip out to sea, with sea breezes and occasional dolphins in the distance - this is real island life.

Once arrived in Labuan Bajo, on the west coast of Flores, we drive to our hotel built on a slope. From here you have a breathtaking view of the Flores Sea, with its countless islands and traditional sailing ships bobbing in the blue.

In downtown Labuan Bajo, you can sit back and relax at one of the cozy restaurants or rooftop bars. A cold drink in your hand, fresh fish on your plate, and before your eyes a sunset over the harbor full of wooden boats - this is life as it was meant to be.

Day 11 Labuhan Bajo - Stay ( komodo tour )

Today, an absolute highlight of the trip is scheduled - literally and figuratively. We leave the engines for a while and board a boat (size depends on group composition) for a unique day on the water.

Our destination is the island Rinca, part of the world-famous Komodo National Park. As we sail across the shimmering waters of the Flores Sea, we are surrounded by an enchanting island landscape and a sense of adventure that grows stronger with each wave.

Arriving on Rinca, we take a hike across the island, accompanied by a local guide. Along the way you have a chance to see in the wild buffalo, deer and - the highlight - the impressive Komodo dragons spotting. These prehistoric-looking reptiles cannot be seen in the wild anywhere else in the world, and observing them up close is downright fascinating.

From the higher parts of the island you have breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding islands and the azure sea. A moment to pause and realize where you are - in the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On the return trip, we'll take a dip in the colorful underwater world of Komodo National Park. With snorkel and mask, discover a vibrant reef full of exotic fish, corals and maybe even a curious turtle. The clear water and tropical biodiversity make this snorkeling spot one of the most beautiful in Southeast Asia.

At the end of the day we sail back to Labuan Bajo, with a head full of impressions and a smile that is hard to disappear from your face.

Day 12 Labuhan Bajo - Bajawa

After breakfast, we start the bikes again and a day full of green vistas, hairpin turns and the pure Flores feeling begins.

We leave Labuan Bajo and drive directly into the mountains. Today is all about curves, mountains and enchanting panoramas. The road winds up and down through a landscape that seems almost out of a painting: dense jungle, misty hills and the occasional small village with children waving by the side of the road.

Peace and nature prevail here. No mass tourism, no crowds - just us, the motorcycles and the endless greenery of Flores.

Halfway through the day we stop for a local lunch in Ruteng, a friendly town in the heart of the Manggarai region. Here we can catch our breath before continuing our route over the impressive mountain passes of Ranaka, Leda and Lobobutu. The views alternate rapidly, with views at some points even of the Sawu Zee, shimmering in the distance.

At the end of the day, we arrive in Bajawa, a cool mountain town where local culture is still deeply rooted in everyday life. It almost feels here as if time has stood still.

Day 13 Bajawa - Moni

We start the day with a special cultural excursion to a traditional Ngada village, where life still runs as it did centuries ago. Here we get a unique insight into the ancient customs, architecture and rituals of the locals. The wooden houses, with their pointed roofs and totems, surround a central square and breathe history. The hospitable residents proudly tell us about their culture and way of life - a valuable start to the day.

After this special visit, we jump back on our motorcycles and ride on, again across the rugged mountain landscape of Flores. The road winds up and down, with a new breathtaking view behind every bend.

In the afternoon, we descend to the coast and follow the beautiful coastal road toward Ende. With the ocean at our side, we feel the warm sea breeze as we make miles along deserted beaches and fishing villages.

After Ende, we deflect back into the mountains. The road climbs again, through dense vegetation and mystical mists, until we finally arrive at the quiet mountain town of Moni. This charming village lies at the foot of one of Flores' greatest natural wonders: the tricolored lakes of Kelimutu.

Moni is the perfect base for the magical spectacle that awaits us early tomorrow. But for now: time to relax, enjoy the cool mountain breeze, and recharge for perhaps the highlight of this trip.

Day 14 Moni - riung

Today is an early day - very early. To 3:30 a.m. the alarm clock rings and in the dark we get on our motorcycles for a special ride. With only our headlights illuminating the winding mountain road, we ride the 12-kilometer climb up to the parking lot at the base of the Kelimutu volcano.

After that, another hike of about 30 minutes, in the stillness of the early morning. The air is crisp, the stars still visible, and slowly the horizon begins to lighten... Until we come upon 1640 meters altitude arriving at something magical: the three mysterious crater lakes of Kelimutu. Each lake has its own color, and those colors can change due to natural processes. As the sun slowly rises and turns the landscape golden, we see the lakes awaken - a moment you will remember forever.

After this unforgettable morning, we return to the hotel for a well-deserved breakfast. Then we once again pack the motorcycles and begin the drive north toward the remote Riung.

Today's route is varied and rugged. The landscape changes visibly as we drive along. We leave the green mountain region and descend into a drier, more arid area - especially in the dry season, this region takes on something almost desert-like.

The middle section of the route is mostly unpaved And leads us far from civilization. No traffic, no villages - just you, your motorcycle, and nature. Dusty trails, dry riverbeds, and expansive views alternate. This is riding in its purest form: remote, adventurous, and totally free.

By late afternoon, we reach the coastal town of Riung, known for its archipelago and calm atmosphere. Time to wash off the dust and enjoy the tranquility of the sea.

Day 15 Riung - Stay ( 17 Islands tour )

Today we are taking a well-deserved break from the engines, because Riung has a hidden paradise that is not to be missed. We stay an extra day to explore the unique 17 Islands Marine Park to explore - a protected area that is hardly visited by tourists, thus retaining its pure, unspoiled charm.

In the morning, we board a local fishing boat, which takes us along the azure waters of the Flores Sea. The name says it all: scattered in the bay are 17 islets - all tropical gems, surrounded by clear water and colorful coral reefs.

We make several stops to snorkeling in the most beautiful places, where you are greeted by a vibrant underwater world full of tropical fish, starfish and coral of all colors. The water is warm, the atmosphere relaxed - this is exactly why you went on your trip.

Around lunchtime, we dock at one of the uninhabited islets, with white sand and swaying palm trees. While our crew puts a freshly caught fish on the BBQ, you can enjoy the peace, the sun, and the view of the endless sea with your feet in the sand.

After lunch we slowly sail back, perhaps with a brief stop to dive into the water one more time.

The rest of the afternoon is up to you - relax at your accommodation, take a stroll through Riung or simply reminisce about this tropical day in a place where time seems to stand still.

Day 16 Riung - Ruteng

Today we continue our journey via the northern coastal road of Flores, a route that is still largely unpaved and leads us through a fascinating, almost untouched landscape. Here, away from tourism, it seems like we have the world to ourselves.

We ride alone for hours, with only the sound of motorcycles and nature around us. Occasionally we pass through a small, remote village where time seems to stand still. The curious gazes of the locals follow us - amazed, surprised and often with a smile. For many, it is a rare scene to see foreigners riding motorcycles through their villages.

As we move further west, the landscape changes. The road becomes paved again and winds through a mountainous area, where impressive rice terraces rise like green steps against the hills. We are in the region Manggarai, an area known for its beauty and fertility.

Every bend in the road offers a new view - valleys full of palms, rice fields glistening in the sun and the mountains in the background defining the horizon.

Day 17 Ruteng - Labuhan Bajo

After about 20 kilometers on the main road, we turn left and plunge back inland. From here we drive completely off the beaten path - through a region where almost no tourists ever come. It is like traveling back in time.

The road winds like a ribbon through rural Flores, alternately on and off road, with dusty paths, small bridges and narrow fords among dense vegetation. In the villages we pass, life stops for a moment. The locals stare at us with big eyes - surprised, but always friendly. A smile, a hand gesture, sometimes a child waving enthusiastically.

Just before reaching Labuan Bajo, we rejoin the main road. The last 10 kilometers we ride leisurely toward our hotel, with the feeling that today we got to experience a piece of real, unspoiled Indonesia.

Day 18 Labuhan Bajo - Bima

In the morning, we will take the ferry back towards Sumbawa, with our final destination being Bima. During the crossing, you can enjoy the view of the Flores Sea for a while as we slowly bid farewell to Flores.

Once ashore, our ride begins through mountainous terrain. The road winds up and down, through green hills and past small villages where life follows its own leisurely pace.

By late afternoon we arrive in Bima, where we spend the night on the outskirts of town. The hotel has comfortable rooms and a rooftop pool - a nice place to unwind after a long day with views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Day 19 Bima - Sumbawa Besar

Today we leave Bima and after less than an hour we turn toward the coast to explore the Kilo area.

The route first leads us on asphalt, but soon the road turns into a dirt track that gets narrower and narrower. We wind along the coastline, between palm trees and banana plantations, and drive through remote villages where time seems to have stood still. The locals look at us with wide eyes as we pass on our motorcycles, and children run to the road laughing and waving enthusiastically.

After this adventurous morning ride, we return to a well-paved coastal road in the afternoon. With the fresh sea breeze in our faces and the view of the blue ocean, we continue our way to Sumbawa Besar.

We spend the night outside the city this time, in a unique location on the edge of a cliff. From the pool you have a panoramic view of the sea and Moyo Island in the distance - a perfect place to end the day with a drink in hand.

Day 20 Sumbawa Besar - Bayan ( Lombok )

After three hours of driving along the coastal road, we take the ferry back to Lombok. The crossing is short, but offers beautiful views of the islands and the surrounding sea. Once we arrive, we continue on Lombok's northern coastal road - a quiet route with hardly any traffic, allowing you to fully enjoy the views.

On one side rises the impressive mountain Gunung Rinjani up, on the other hand the azure sea extends to the horizon. The combination of green mountain slopes, tropical vegetation and the tranquility of the surroundings makes this one of the most beautiful stretches of the route.

We spend the night in Bayan, at about 600 meters altitude against the flanks of Rinjani. Our accommodation consists of charming wooden cottages with traditional thatched roofs, hidden among the rice terraces. From the naturally landscaped pool you have a magnificent view of the valley and the coastline in the distance.

In the evening, we enjoy a freshly prepared Indonesian or Western meal in the restaurant, with the sounds of nature in the background. A perfect place to catch your breath and end this special day.

Day 21 Bayan - Stay ( waterfall tour )

Today there is nothing on the schedule - a day off to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings of Bayan at your own pace.

You can choose to relax at the natural pool of the accommodation, surrounded by rice terraces and with soothing views of the valley. Or put on your hiking boots for an exploration of the surrounding area.

Highly recommended is a hike towards the flanks of the more than 3,700-meter-high Gunung Rinjani, Indonesia's second highest volcano. Along the way you will pass impressive waterfalls, babbling brooks and dense jungle - a perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty.

Whether you choose to relax or get active, today is the time to recharge completely, enjoy the peace, fresh mountain air and slow rhythms of the Indonesian countryside.

Day 22 Bayan - Sanur ( Bali )

We continue our journey along the scenic coastal road toward southern Lombok. This last ride on the island takes us along narrow, quiet roads right through rural villages and along the coast, where the sea treats us to its beauty one more time.

At the port, we say goodbye to Lombok and board the ferry back to Bali. During the crossing - often at sunset - you can reminisce about everything you experienced: the mountains, the beaches, the people, and of course the endless curves.

By evening we arrive in Bali and drive directly to our hotel in Sanur, a friendly coastal town where laid-back beach life and good restaurants welcome you. Time to catch your breath and prepare for the final chapter of this special motorcycle adventure.

Day 23 Sanur - Departure

The last day in Bali is all about relaxation. Enjoy the tropical atmosphere one last time: relax by the hotel pool or walk to the beach, where the white sand and high waves set the stage for a wonderful afternoon. The sea here is not only beautiful, but also popular with surfers from all over the world - a lively but relaxed scene to spend your last hours with.

Maybe one last fresh coconut or Indonesian dish at a beachside café...anything goes, nothing must.

In the evening, it is time to say goodbye to this adventure. You will be taken to the airport for your return flight - with a head full of memories, a heart full of impressions, and perhaps already longing for the next ride. Sampai jumpa, and who knows: see you in Indonesia!
