Unpaved with your All Road motorcycle through the vast wilderness of Sweden

 

What could be better than to ride your All Road motorcycle through the wilderness of Sweden and enjoy yourself in wooded areas and/or by a lake. Delicious around a campfire evening with a drink to evaluate the day with fellow participants and share experiences.

We meet at the port of Rostock Germany, where the take the night boat to Trellenborg Sweden.

The route is unpaved as much as possible and well suited for heavy All Road motorcycles.

Ride setup: The purpose of this adventurous motorcycle trip is that we do not ride the day's stages as a group but individually with up to 4 people together. This means that the groups leave in intervals and have their own gpx route.

Day 1 Rostock Germany

You will travel on your own to Rostock Germany where we will gather and have our first overnight stay on the overnight boat. The day's distance is measured from Utrecht, so for everyone this will be different but gives an indication. So you can determine the route yourself.

Day 8 Mora

In Mora the northernmost point of our motorcycle trip we will stay 2 nights. You can use this day as a rest day and possibly wash your clothes, or if you feel like it there are 2 tours available. 1 tour is a small round east of our overnight stay and the other, the longer tour north.

Individual riding

The stages will be interval started, so we will not ride as a large group. The idea is to leave at 10 to 15 minute intervals with 2 or 3 riders.

Lunch

Lunch can be taken at the hotel in the morning.

En route

In addition to rainwear ect, always have drinking water with you. When driving past a house take into account that you can quickly become a nuisance due to speed, noise and dust. We also recommend that you stop every hour. Enjoy the surroundings and nature.

Tires

For this trip, you need to drive all road tires or to be more precise, an 80/20 or possibly a 50/50 tire that can run on both asphalt and dirt roads.

Briefing

Before the trip on the boat you will have a general briefing where everything will be told. In addition, you will receive advance instructions each morning for the day's leg that may be relevant.

Day 1 Departure - Rostock ( Germany )

Everyone will leave from their home town and we will gather at the port of Rostock Germany.

The ferry leaves by midnight, the crossing takes about 7 hours. So most of this time we will sleep on the ferry.

Day 2 Trellenborg ( Sweden ) - Vittsjo

Around 07:00 we will dock at the port of Trellenborg in Sweden. From here the allroad Ride begins. We ride for a bit through the small town of Trellenborg and then we are soon on the flat agricultural hinterland. Here pretty soon begins our first gravel roads.

Alternating unpaved over gravel roads through meadows and later forested areas, we arrive in Vittsjo where our first overnight stay is.

hotel is located on the outskirts of the town not far from Lake Vitsjon. The traditional hotel has cozy rooms and a good restaurant.

Day 3 Vittsjo - Vrigstad

After our communal breakfast, we start leaving at 10-minute intervals. First part is paved but already goes through a beautiful wooded area. After that we have a lot of gravel roads and at the end of the day a nice single track.

We spent the night just outside Vrigstad, a traditional Swedish lodging with a number of cozy cottages including kitchen and living room.

Day 4 Vrigstad - Vadstena

First Part of the stage is paved but goes through a nice wooded area. Then we turn off and go back to riding the gravel roads. Of course, the many lakes are not missing either with nice views over the area.

We have a luxury hotel in Vadstena. Not far from here, on Lake Vattern, there is an impressive castle dating from 1545 which we will definitely visit. For dinner this town also has a nice square not far from the castle.

Day 5 Motala - Malingsbo

We drive further north and enter the Orebro area. A nice quiet wooded area with gravel paths. A beautiful day with lots of variety brings us to Malingsbro at the lake Nedra Malingsbosjon where we can have a nice swim.

Day 6 Malingsbro - Mora

Even though we are still in southern Sweden, it is already incredibly quiet and deserted here. Once again we have beautiful gravel roads through wooded areas and beautiful lakes. And that perhaps invites us to take a quick dip and then move on. Along the way we also come across a suspension bridge over the Vasterdalven River.

We spend the night in Mora, our northernmost overnight of this tour. We will stay here for 3 nights.

Day 7 Mora - Accommodation

We stay here for a total of 3 nights. Mora is a cozy small tourist place by the lake Siljan and Orsasjon. There are also nice cafes and restaurants.

For those who feel like it, we are going to ride a round of about 200 kilometers today.

Day 8 Mora - Accommodation

For the 2nd day here, a short drive is planned to the east, a wooded area with many small lakes where there are many reindeer.

Day 9 Mora - Vitsand

Today we drive west, right as we leave Mora we are already in very quiet and vast forested area with those typical Swedish straight gravel roads. But also again the beautiful winding forest roads brings us to the next overnight outside Vitsand.

An old converted farm complex with a very good restaurant, with next to it a modern building where the rooms are. There is a sauna right on the lake where you can cool off.

Day 10 Vitsand - Visterud

Beginning of this stage we continue west to the border with Norway, a varied stage of gravel and forest trails with lies steep hills and breathtaking views. Passing several lakes we arrive at the next overnight stay in Visterud.

An old train station building converted into a hotel. Visterud is within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 11 Visterud - Molltrop

Today's stage goes above the large Lake Vanern right through a wooded area where there are also many windmills.

We then continue south and arrive at Lake Vattern, but now on its west side.

A large hotel complex in the center located directly on the lake. Besides old traditional houses, this place has a cozy atmosphere with several restaurants.

Day 12 Molltrop - Hylte

First part of the route is paved but then we go back to a lot of unpaved riding through nice quiet wooded area and many nice lakes to rest and enjoy nature.

Just outside Hylte we will spend the night at the lake Stora Fargen. So a dip in it is not out of the question!

Day 13 Hylte - Trellenborg ( Port )

Our last day in Sweden. We will do some nice off road driving through forests and agricultural areas at the beginning of this stage before arriving at the port of Trellenborg where we will have the night boat to Rostock Germany.

Day 14 Rostock ( Germany ) - home
