Spain Portugal Black Bull Ride 12 Days

Day 1 Departure

We gather at the airport in the Netherlands where we fly to Malaga. The motorcycles have already been turned in a week earlier to the carrier who will transport them to Malaga. Upon arrival, the motorcycles are waiting for us in the hotel garage.

Malaga lies directly on the Alboran Sea and has many sights of historical and cultural values.

Day 2 Malaga - Trevelez

Driving directly inland, we headed toward the Sierra Nevada via Parque Natural de los Montes de Málaga and Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park. With 16 mountain peaks above 3,000 meters, there is plenty of snow in winter for skiing. The highest mountain is called Mulhacén at 3482 meters.

Our overnight stay is in the mountain town of Trevelez with beautiful views of the mountains.

Day 3 Trevelez - Granada

Today we drive all day in and around Sierra Nevada National Park. Through the ski town of Puerto De La Ragua, we drive to the north side and then head toward Granada. The city has beautiful architecture as culture in Mediterranean atmosphere.

We spend the night in the middle of the city in Spanish style with a swimming pool.

Day 4 Granada - Cordoba

After a delicious breakfast, we drive north. An alternation of on and off road takes us into las Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park, and from here to Cordoba.

Cordoba has many sights from Roman and Moorish times, and the Mezquita mosque-cathedral is definitely a must see that is not far from our hotel.

Day 5 Cordoba - Seville

We leave Cordoba and drive through the vast Parque Natural Sierra de Hornachuelos. This 400,00 ha natural park is under UNESCO along with the Sierra Norte park where we drive south again to Seville.

Seville has many attractions including the Alcazar Real Seville, this royal palace is the oldest in Europe still in use.

Day 6 Seville - Mina De Sao Domingos

Continuing west, we will cross the border into Portugal and arrive at the border of Valley of Guadiana Natural Park where we will spend the night.

Hotel complex in typical Portuguese atmosphere with swimming pool and delicious restaurant.

Day 7 Mina De Sao - Odeceixe

Our second day in Portugal goes first through the Valley of Guadiana Natural Park and on through a relatively unknown and very quiet area until we reach the west coast at Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina on the North Atlantic Ocean.

Beautiful overnight stay in the hills with pool and 10 kilometers from the beach.

Day 8 Odeceixe - Salir

We drove further on and off road through the mountains of The Algarve and settled in the village of Salir. A friendly village with a small typical Portuguese accommodation with a swimming pool.

Day 9 Salir - Mazagon

Today we will cross the border into Spain again and spend the night at the Playa Del Parador on the Gulf of Cadiz.

The hotel overlooking the beach with pool and good restaurant/bar will give us a tropical evening.

Day 10 mazagon - Olvera

After a tropical night, we move on again and drive east through Doñana National Park towards Olvera. Olvera is considered one of the most characteristic villages of the Sierra de Cádiz. With its many white houses and at the top a castle from 1327 just 1 kilometer from our cozy accommodation with again a swimming pool.

Day 11 Olvera - Malaga

Since we have a short drive today, we can sleep in a bit and enjoy breakfast. In addition, we will arrive early in Malaga so we can visit some places or have a beer on a terrace.

Day 12 Departure home

Today we know fly back to Holland and the bikes will be put back on transport.
